Whose kid has yet to decide?

And rate your personal stress level at this point… hah!

I'm not stressed at all. Parents these days are too enmeshed with their kids.

Mine!

But waiting on response from a coach at one school. If that doesn’t come through he’s got two top choices left (w/out sport).

Deer in headlights over here!

I keep saying annoying and platitudinous things like, “it’ll be fine…of course you’ll be able to pick…no school is perfect but they’re all great options…go with your gut…” As it turns out, those sorts of comments don’t seem to help much.

Mine would like to commit but I’m insisting we wait.

Raises hand sheepishly…

Son is 90% decided, but want to wait until after big sporting event this weekend.

I’m happy for him, but starting to get sad that he picked the furthest one away. Starting to hit me his much he’ll be gone soon. 😭

Plenty of time left to decide. If it comes down to it a coin toss only takes a second.

Why???

You are the problem.

Your kid has made his/her choice. Stop trying to control their future!

Are you always yelling?

Hmm. My kid hasn't decided. I am not stressed about it ... why would I be? This is the fun part. I am happy with all his choices. He did five admitted student events and we still have one place left to visit, but he is also so busy that we haven't been able to go yet.

I think he is not going to pick the one I would choose for him (or the one I would choose for me, for that matter) but, at this point, it's up to him.

mine. Taking lots of deep breaths. My kid does not make decisions in the same way I do. Just hoping they WILL make a decision!

Why would you be?!?! I could list a lot of reasons. I hate it when people come on here and act like it isn’t normal for parents to be stressed.

Still playing out the process with one more admitted student day. They are stressed and want to be done but also want to see the last school. (It was the only day that worked — Monday the 29th).

Because schools offer merit at the last minute. So far, waiting since my kid decided (9 days ago) til now saved us 4k a year at first choice school. 16k is a price for waiting and doing nothing else. Offered 6k a year at number 2

I’m paying for this. I’m controlling my financial future.

Mine decided and then got a last minute offer that is almost too hard to pass up from another school.

Kid wants to stick to the initial decision, I think the 2nd is the better choice and kid is just taking the easier route.

Talk about stress! But maybe I need a lesson from these other posters. It’s their decision! Let go of the reins.
