All this talk I have done about no facelift ever was fine…until my jawline has started to go south

I thought I would be the type that would age “relatively” gracefully. A little Botox and tightening treatment here and there. Now, my jawline has literally fallen. It has happened in the last year. Unless I can find a tightening treatment that works soon, it’s facelift city for me. Any ideas of what to try?

Get a facelift, it’s ok!

Get the facelift! They last for 10+ years in most cases and have a much more natural appearance than endless rounds of injectables.

I second the above posters. Just do it.

+100. The "aging gracefully" set go for the surgery. Get the lift and forgo the fillers. Look at Helen Mirren for multiple facelift inspo.

Also agree that a facelift can be done properly--and it is the only way to fix sagging jowls. Extra skin has to be cut away.

If either of these quote Melinda Ferina, aka “the beauty broker”, avoid her. She’s a scam.

I'm 49.5 and my jawline has fallen over the past 6 months.

I work in plastic surgery getting a mini lift next month.

Most (if not all) of the celebrities who look natural in their 50s and above have had facelifts. Not fillers. Just a really good mini lift. Facial plastic surgery has evolved drastically in recent years. There are no longer the 'pulled tight or scar by ear" issues. Good facelifts just refresh.

Do the 'get a facelift people' pay for private colleges? I always wonder where everyone on this board gets $$ to spend all of these cosmetic procedures and beauty trends and we have a relatively HHI, even for this area.

???

Did I end the thread bringing up financing it? I also think it's crazy all the 20-somethings/early 30-somethings getting preventive botox. My nephew's wife 29 is starting to look older getting botox over time.

I was hoping to learn how they funded it, too! I'm 58 and not only do I have jowls now, my neck is looking saggy! I'd love a facelift!

I have nothing against cosmetic surgery except two things:

1. I terrified of surgery in general, so would only ever do medically-necessary ones.

2. The problem with cosmetic surgery is that your face ages over the years, and it's very hard, even for an experienced surgeon, to predict how your "new" face will start to sag after a few years. Which is why some people tweak their faces continuously and sometimes, without meaning to, end up looking horrific.

So... beware, I guess. Pick a REALLY GOOD surgeon.

Well I guess it’s not as high as you think.

Some of those prices in NY and CA are staggerlng! Do your research and find a surgeon in a smaller market who doesn't have such a high overhead. Of course, they need to be board certified, yada, yada, yada. And ideally do primarily facelifts (not boob jobs etc) multiple times per week. Mine was less than $20k. aafprs.org is a good place to start.
