The reason I ask is I think it would be impossible for a parent to abandon a child in the way he seems to have done, unless he is being held to ransom in some major way that would mean he could lose everything.

I also think that by now, in 2024 no one would care if he was gay / bi / trans or whatever. No one.

I know she had a clause not to be seen / photographed in public with a "new lover" for 5 yrs. Which she seemed to abide by.

There is a ton of information out there now about Scientology. They take people's personal information from the auditing sessions they do. They know a person's problems and issues. They are known to harass people who leave the church or people who criticize it. They have a doctrine called "fair game" which means they can do anything they want to discredit and destroy people which can range from poisoning someone's dog to lawsuits. They protect their own so that's to a member's advantage. I think they have intel on lots of people and people are afraid of leaving. He's either a true believer or afraid of leaving. I think he's a true believer. I think they the leader has him in his power.
