Ideas for a trip with a 6 month old

I have a four month old and my husband and I are itching to go somewhere. We travelled a lot internationally before the baby and were ready to get back at it once baby gets its 6 month vaccines. She is an easy baby and a good sleeper. We went on a road trip a few weeks ago for the eclipse and while it took us a while to drive because of the stops, she handled the trip very well. Now we’re ready to fly somewhere. She has her passport. Any places that are fun/good for young babies? We’re not really all inclusive resort people but maybe that would be an easy first trip? Any suggestions?

Wherever you go, I'd suggest renting somewhere with a kitchen and a washer/drier. Eating out once a day will work. Having to do it for every meal becomes painful.

I would recommend not going unless you have a ton of money and are ok with the trip feeling entirely not worth it in the end. I regret almost all the trips I took with my kids prior to the age of about 4.

You just have to survive the flight and then deal with her adjusting to the time change.

Puerto Rico. Stay in San Juan and do a mix of pool, beach, and walking around with your baby in a carrier or stroller.

We ended up at the doctor in foreign countries for ear infections etc, so somewhere with easy access to care might be a consideration. We've seen doctors in Canada, France, New Zealand....

Oh please. Just feed the baby on take off and landing. Really, anywhere is fine. Just go where you would want to go anyway.

Go wherever you want. The baby won’t care or remember. If you have them on a good sleep schedule now with set times ( at 6 mos ours wa sleeping 7-7) I would stay on the same time zone or only sway by an hour.

This is OP. Maybe this will be me but it’s worth a try! I know plenty of people who travel with babies and toddlers and enjoy it. I was talking to my mom last night and she was like just do it and don’t agonize over it. She travelled internationally several times a year with two kids starting from when we were babies and she said my father and her had tons of fun. I just need to pick a place to start!

We did it a lot to visit family - we're both from different countries at opposite ends of the planet. It is doable but you won't be doing full on museum visits, adventure tourismt, or high end dining like in the old days. Be flexible and downsize your expectations. Be prepared to watch a lot of ducks and visit playgrounds.
