Racist? |
Jack and Jill bathrooms.
Palladium windows. No front coat closet. No powder room on main floor. Garage entrance at basement level. |
Craftsman is early 20th century, not 100s of years old. Craftsman doesn't bridge any gap between farmhouse and colonial style homes, it's a unique style. Kitchens don't need to be remodeled every 8 years if they're not white. You're just...really wrong. |
PP. Also, farmhouse describes a house on a farm, but it isn't an architecture style. Maybe it's a decorating style started by HGTV? |
Craftsman has been in style since 1890s and a farm is 1000 years old, open a book or Wikipedia you moron The American Craftsman style (along with a wide variety of related but conceptually distinct European design movements) was developed out of the British Arts and Crafts movement, which began as early as the 1860s.[1] |
coffered ceilings
microwaves under the counter cooktops and sinks in islands (sink is ok in a really big island where stools on the other side are far away from it) kitchens where the dishwasher opens in front of the sink kitchens where nobody's planned a place for trash and recycling bins. tiny and/or corner sinks in kitchens (especially big kitchens; I'll cut some slack for small apartments) master baths with jetted tubs vessel sinks silk flowers and vines entry foyers where there's no place to hang a coat--I like a coat closet right by the door. main floors without a bathroom (half bath is fine). ornate curved/double staircases |
Because I love them. I love front load garages. I love cars and my cars shouldn't be tucked away. I park my luxury cars on my driveway and front load garage. My garage is clean and an attractive part of my house. People who hate front load garages usually have trashy garages and that's why they want them out of sight. |
I hate front load garages, too, but I pretty much hate cars and would rather not be reminded of them.
Not a fan of bland, generic, HGTV style. All HGTV houses look the same, which is basic and dull. Sectionals. Don’t like ‘em. Same with carpeting. Hardwood or bust. Abhor TVs over fireplaces and farmhouse sinks. Disappointed when people replace old windows in historic homes with new, non-historically accurate windows. Same goes for doors. Basically I don’t ever want to live in a house built after 1940. |
That's a nice follow-up, PP. curious what your issue is with brushed nickel? I find it to be an attractive look in most kitchens and bathrooms. |
Agree, hate the all white kitchen— so sick of seeing white cabinets, white quartz cabinets and subway tiles everywhere. So overdone. Also hate shiplap (ok in beach houses) and sliding barn doors in urban/suburban homes. |
Having the same color throughout the common areas of a house makes it look more cohesive. |
Here we go again. Actually, the tile roof is very....warm weather climate....like the islands. |
Your label is troll enough for all of us. |
Not PP, but brushed nickel just looks like cheap builder grade stuff (even if it’s not). It belongs with the “wood” tiles. |
