This is really sad and terrible, but if the kid was invited for a birthday party, the problem was not lack of a babysitter at home. |
This is not inherently a big family thing. It's a parenting thing. I've seen parents of a small number of kids do the same, and parents of big families who are incredibly hands-on. |
That is terrible. There was a birthday party at a neighborhood pool and no lifeguard? |
They almost always have the attitude of "God will provide" to justify not providing for other own kids adequately too. They are parasites. |
But, what? There is not but here. It's your job as a parent to keep your kids safe. There is an "especially" here because of the well known safety risk of a pool. Keep an eye on the kids "especially" around a pool. But certainly no "but". The buck stops with the parent. |
This is what ive seen too. |
OP expresses an unfortunately typical individualistic American attitude. Other cultures are inclusive of others’ kids, help to care for them, and don’t see them as a nuisance.
On a side note, thank goodness my DCs are close in age and share the same interests. |
Or they have 4 kids, complain about them constantly, and expect all of us to just be insta-sitters because they need a breaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkk. Npe, you decided to have 4 kids. It was a choice. Now deal with it. We didn't sign up for this group project. |
What “other cultures”? African? It’s very uncommon to have more than 1-2 kids in Europe and kids behave very well. The same in well developed Asian countries. |
Damn, now OP decided to go racist too! You’re anti people OP and the best thing for you to do is isolate yourself at home the best you can until you die. |
Today I was at DC’s hockey practice and I was trying to work. There was a group of overweight, toothless women with a bunch of kids waiting for their kid to finish practice.
They let their toddler strapped in the stroller scream for a full hour our on top of their lungs in a public waiting room. I finally came up to them and pointed out that they have been screaming for an hour. She told me how it was so rude of me because it’s a public place and “babies cry”. It never occurred to her it was rude to subject to the other four dozen adults to her baby crying. And that’s how they roll. |
She's technically right. Why didn't you go to somewhere more quiet or your car? You are in a public waiting room. PUBLIC. Of course there are kids there. |
Lol you really expect people to believe this story? |
I would never get a babysitter for another kids karate class. Weddings of course I would. Poker night? One of us stays at home. |
Many people have more kids than they can afford. Making the baby is free, they forget everything else isnt. |
