Why is Biden not addressing Israel or the university protests?

No. Why do you think he should? US foreign policy is not dictated by entitled college kids living on Daddy's $$$$ and who have never, and will never, serve their county in the military or in any other way. The frightening aspect is that many of these dilatantes will be in positions of authority and national importance some day.

The Viet Nam demonstrations did influence national politics and the upshot was that we got Nixon. I must admit that Nixon was a kindergartener compared to Trump but that's another story.

I'm so tired of idiots like you. These kids are on the right side of history. The behavior of the government of Israel is not defensible. They are committing war crimes in Gaza. The events of 10/7 were horrific, but they do not justify the continued slaughter of innocent Gazans. These students have the right intentions and are quite brave.

What is disgusting is a hypocritical GOP that supports anti-Semitic white supremacists on one side but are quite happy to use this situation to undermine higher education and try to score political points in an election year. They are absolutely full of BS and don't really give two hoots about any Israelis or Jews or higher education. They just want political power and Trump in the Presidency. Disgusting hypocritical charlatans and so many of you fall for it.

The naivete is all you. You really think these protests are grass-roots college kids? The students are so silly to think they are anything more than pawns to some seriously funded, bad acting organizations, who want to see nothing more than Hamas stay in power in Gaza. How can you support any student, person, or organization who supports Hamas? And also, anybody who doesn't understand why the US must support Israel are deniers. Period. There is no other explanation.

More bogeyman distractions. Great.

No, people are just fed up with entitled a-holes in a desert fighting over sand. Normal people tend to look at the power dynamic and assign blame proportionally based on that dynamic. People clouded by personal conflicts of interest do what you do - blame the other side as 100% of the problem.

But again, just bogeyman nonsense. If you can just get people to be xenophobic for a second, you can get them to reject the message ...

Absolutely 100 percent false about how “normal” people view this conflict.

Don't support Hamas.

Don't support Israel.

Want the country I was born in, live in, and pay taxed in to stop supporting Israel, at least unconditionally.

There's no denial going on here. The denial is on your end in thinking that your love for Israel must be shared by others, otherwise they are flawed in some way. The denial is in thinking that others must bow before Emperor Netanyahu like you have. Get over yourself. You're not chosen.

And when you play the tired game of trying to create credibility around your views by arguing that you're "not even Jewish!", just know that nobody believes you and that nobody is chosen. Not you, not "them", not anybody. A big part of the poison in this well of conflict emanates from that core belief of superiority. If it was only abandoned for one minute, a peaceful coexistence might be possible.

But if you keep thinking you're better than others, and that everyone else is to blame for the conflict you ALWAYS seem to find surrounding you, you'll never find it. And you'll never have it. Is that what you want? For yourself? For generations of Jews (and Arabs) to follow? No peace? Seriously? Because it's not coming through the vengeful "take to or leave it" apartheid treatment that exists in the region. Israel can try to kill everyone who opposes it, and the army arrayed against it will just grow and grow and grow. Can't kill fast enough. Barely killed 5% of Gaza and the train is already derailing.

But there's a way out. It involves compromise and accountability. We'll see it if happens. I hope for everyone's sake that the ONLY side that can change the direction here (Israel) chooses to do so. Save that horseshit about the Palestinians being able to change the direction by turning over hostages, or rejecting Hamas through some imagined formal ceremony, or whatever. Those distractions would do NOTHING to change the dynamic controlled by Israel. And you know that. So the choice is for Israel to make ... no peace and eventual dissolution of the state in its current form, or peace.

Poll after poll shows that most Americans support Israel in this conflict and in others and they are not majority Jewish.

I don’t support war crimes or terrorist organizations so I can’t take sides with this war. They’re both fighting dirty and innocent people in both countries are suffering. The amount of black and white thinking on the issue is suspicious.

If you think that change the unpopular policy that is driving down Biden’s polls in key states he needs to win. New York(7%), New Jersey(6%) and DC(5%) are the only states with higher than 5% Jewish populations. They are safe blue states. Every other state is 3% and less and are not in play. Biden can not even bring himself to call for a ceasefire. He is actively giving the finger to his base. Stop being stupid and make the correct political call.

Fight all you want until it comes down to vote but sitting out the election or voting for Trump in protest is short-sighted, self-centered, and not remotely productive to your ultimate goal.

Or, Biden can do what the majority wants to guarantee he wins the election.

His age is already a major factor, why not do everything possible? As of Feb 77% of Dems want a ceasefire, and now that we’re in April I’m sure that number has grown. He is favoring minority rule, which is something most Dems can’t stand in the GOP. It’s his choice. Just wait until he starts alienating Europe over this.

Hate to break it to you: If you're still clinging to fairytales that a voice from a burning bush granted certain people immutable land rights, you're not "normal".

The majority of people don’t know the difference between Hamas and Palestine or where Israel is on a map. Even experts who’ve studied this area and its conflict for their whole lives acknowledge it’s complicated and muddy. The problem is people who think they know everything and they are right because a Tik Tok or blogger or talking head told them “the truth”.

Did they see the 300,000+ civilians killed in Iraq after the U.S. invasion? Or the 46,000+ civilians in Afghanistan post-2001 invasion?

The median normie American is asleep. They are not seeing what's happening in Gaza. And even if they do, they likely just shrug their shoulders because life is cheap and nothing we do will change the Middle East.

It will indeed.

Will also be interesting to see how the younger generation’s views change as they age.

Remember that today’s conservative Boomers were blowing up college campuses 50 years ago to protest Vietnam.

Amen! I'm one younger American Jew whose parents and grandparents have contributed significant $$$ to Zionist and related causes over many decades. Looking forward to redirecting what I inherit from them towards Palestine Children's Relief Fund

But the protests happening in university's are on private property or state property. It's for university presidents or state governors to address.

Personally, I don't think setting up human tent villages in the middle of a campus is really all that necessary to express one's 1st Amendment rights. These students can protest all day between classes and then go home to their dorm rooms. They don't have the right to interrupt the functioning of a college campus.

The universities are scared sh#tless of the Jewish pressure groups like Bill Ackman. They got the scalp of the president of Harvard. Someone who never showed any hints of antisemitism. This is mcCarthyism and when someone finally stands up the dam will break. Just don’t look for Biden to step up.

This sums up Biden and why so many Democrats are tired of him. Starts at 6 minutes in.

That was a couple months ago. Now we've moved on from blaming Israel for 10/7. And we're back to supporting them (as well as continuing to give aid to Gaza). Except for loony college students.
