China subsidizing Fentanyl exports

Anonymous
There is a congressional report showing how Chinas subsidizing the creation of and exportation of fentanyl. It’s then shipped to Mexico and makes its way here to the Us.

I haven’t seen a lot of press on this. How are our lawmakers putting pressure on china to stop this? So many people have died and so many families have been impacted and yet nothing is being done!

Now add this to the Ayran (ie white nationalists) being busted for Fentanyl distribution and border crossings.

Yes, it is China and the right wingers. There is a reason the GOP doesn't want the border bill to pass.

You neglected to mention the Mexican cartels and their part in this. But nice try, as usual, pinning it on GOP.

Initially China was sending it straight here via USPS. We stopped that and they have modified their distribution channel. We are working on fixing this one too.

I must say, while I am aware that our country has done unsavory things at times, this is pretty dishonorable behavior to be engaged in. Shameful.

Between fentanyl and Covid, they’ve probably killed more Americans than a nuclear weapon would have done.

And yet, what is being done? There doesn’t seem to be any talk of increasing tariffs on Chinese goods or other trade related consequences over this. It’s frustrating- feels like were wiling to look the other way in order to keep receiving cheap Chinese products while our children and loved ones suffer. Even this report barely made headlines……

I searched the article to see what possible motivation the Chinese could have for doing this and this is what it said:

“The fentanyl crisis has helped [Chinese Communist Party-linked] organized criminal groups become the world's premier money launderers, enriched the [Chinese] chemical industry, and has had a devastating impact on Americans," investigators concluded.”

Chilling. How does our government even begin to respond? It’s not a conventional type of warfare.

Why is this a problem with our lawmakers?

Are you telling me with all the laws on the books, this is not fixable?

Do you really believe it's a problem with the law or with enforcement of laws already enacted?

I'm really getting tired of people acting like they're the first ones on the scene and "we need a law".

It’s too bad we only have one functional political party. A lot of stuff like this falls through the cracks when literally only the Democrats care about governance and have to fight the GOP to get anything accomplished.

The Chinese Communists are on their way to being #1. It helps them to depopulate the US.

China literally fought a war to stop Brits from selling drugs in China. This is a weird turn.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opium_Wars

"The First Opium War was fought from 1839 to 1842 between China and Britain. It was triggered by the Chinese government's campaign to enforce its prohibition of opium, which included destroying opium stocks owned by British merchants and the British East India Company. The British government responded by sending a naval expedition to force the Chinese government to pay reparations and allow the opium trade.[1] The Second Opium War was waged by Britain and France against China from 1856 to 1860, and consequently resulted in China being forced to legalise opium."

The Brits did some evil stuff.

Note that many of those who die from fentanyl poisoning are military-aged men. Coincidence? Nope.

As the US fights the fentanyl crisis, they are distracted. China likes that.
They can also show their people that the US is a scurrilous society... what, with all the drug use and all....and that China is moral and decent.

China has a long game. And, killing off Americans with drugs is part of that game.
