Dr. Broquard/Lafayette

Anonymous
Dr. Broquard just announced she is leaving Lafayette for another DCPS school. Does anyone know which one? She was so terrible that I took my kids out as did several other families that I know. I need to be sure that she is not going to one of the schools my kids are out now. If she is, I want to know as soon as possible so that I can come up with another plan for my children.

Thanks. Hopefully, someone can confirm that so I don't need to worry, although I send my sympathies to Miner families and teachers.

There aren’t many openings this year. Miner makes total sense.

She’s very conscious of seniority and status. I’m surprised if she were to go to another smaller elementary

She is 100% concerned with seniority, status, and image over substance. It will be interesting to see where she lands.

Miner could benefit from her leadership. Its in turmoil right now and she may be the person to get them on track.

Hopefully not oyster.

She managed to look good at Lafayette because the metrics dcps cares about -- attendance, test scores -- were going to look good no matter what she did. I wonder how she'll do at a school where she can't take that for granted. And she had so much contempt for Lafayette parents -- assuming that her next school is majority Black, I wonder how she'll negotiate that.

LOL. Lafayette students (some of them) did well despite her, not because of her. A school in turmoil can't withstand the type of mass exodus and teacher turnover Lafayette had to deal with, never mind the open contempt for parents and hostility towards some students, especially those who require special education. I hope for Miner families she's not headed there if they need strong leadership.

Makes sense for her to go to Miner. That means she would still be under IS Caruthers.

Maybe the kids will get to move more. Never will I forget hearing from one of my kids' teachers, who had a bouncy (nice, smart, but full of beans) bunch that the teacher would be written up for insubordination if she gave them a 15-minute break in the afternoon. Never mind that the kids had finished their work, were doing fine on tests, etc. Extra time outside was verboten.

Yes, this move is definitely a win for Lafayette students.
