RL Teams in This New Era

How competitive do you think RL teams will be for the upcoming year(s)? Or do you think most of the talent that could not make it onto the remaining ECNL teams are mostly going to newly created GA teams?

Yes, I think SYC GA will benefit from players not making FXU from Brave and possibly McLean (depending on where they live). Some McLean may try to go to Arlington ECNL. I think some Loudoun and possibly GFR may try to make FCV or VR versus staying in RL since there is an additional option in their territory. It'll be interesting to see what happens but I think most will try to make it on a GA team before committing to a RL team.

RL will likely stay about the same overall.

The rosters for GA1 teams at VRSC and FCV are completed.

Highly unlikely

Yes, ECRL players will go to GA clubs if they're getting ignored by their clubs ECNL team.

If a GA team does well in GA both ECNL and ECRL players will go to GA clubs.

SyC is in a very good place to be right now and if the do well in league it will only get better.

I think during tryouts more players will gravitate to those GA clubs. ECNL IDs happened after GA IDs so it's likely there are still some solid players left without a team.

Would younger ages (U13-15) choose FCV over RL teams? Would they even choose Revolution considering they may be a bubble player with limited playing time and a long weekly commute to think of?

It would seem some RL teams stand to gain at least a few players that would be a pretty big boost for them. In turn, the overall level of play in the league should increase.

It is a B/C league, how competitive is it supposed to be?

Based on the communications I’ve seen from both clubs, I don’t think this is true for FCV, but it is true for VRSC (although I would imagine they’ve held a few spots for former FCV players who don’t find what they’re looking for at ECNL clubs).

My child really likes her ECRL team and it seems like all but 2 are returning for next year. ECRL is good competition and allows for my child to have other interests.

Email from VRSC stated this. Confirmed.

For boys yes it should be a big improvement. I suspect some of them would beat bottom half of ECNL.

ECNL-R will benefit slightly.

It is true! Previous poster noted girl soccer parents just begin a thread and assume why of course it’s about girls…took me a few comments to recognize this: Brave merger being mentioned and Valor…

Carry on DCUM, carry on

From my anec-data, I'm hearing of a lot of (older) girls who got cut from FVU taking GA (FCV, Rev) offers rather than waiting to go back to their clubs' RL programs. Makes sense, when you are trying to get recruited.
