RL Teams in This New Era

RL teams are a good alternative to ECNL. Most of the clubs use your fees to subsidize the ECNL teams.

What GA club are they going to? SYC, FcV or Revolution?

i think the fcv blow up and fvu merger will absolutely increase the talent on the rl teams. They should be pretty good teams in general

All lower teams subsidize a club's top team - more staffing, social media presence and training sessions. There is no advantage in staying with a RL team if you have a GA offer, specially at an older age group.

Other than the fact that it may be a local club to you and your DC has other interests that take up time as well.

There really won’t be many girls who drop to RL teams because of the merger. Doing some rough math. If VA Union has 24 girls on their roster and say 12 go back to SYC. Then Fairfax Brave had 18 rostered. So 12 McLean girls plus 18 Fairfax Brave is 30 girls trying out for FVU. If FVU keeps a large roster, say 24 girls, then only 6 girls potentially go to a RL team. And most of those girls probably go to a GA team instead. Long way of saying, I think the RL teams will be the same next year.

What was the impact in numbers from players leaving Union to go back to SYC at the younger age groups? In other posts it seems that some also went to Arlington.

Agree, no one is going to drop from an ECNL or GA to an RL team.

Based on the communications I’ve seen from both clubs, I don’t think this is true for FCV, but it is true for VRSC (although I would imagine they’ve held a few spots for former FCV players who don’t find what they’re looking for at ECNL clubs).

This. Is the truth right here. If you're still looking to jump out of RL email FCV lol

RL players look down on NCSL the same way that ECNL players look down at RL.

I hope this is not true, because using fees from lower teams to subsidize ECNL/GA would be incredibly unethical. Most of these clubs provide an itemized list of what is and is not included in club fees. I've never seen "slush fund for ECNL" among them.
