This has been brewing almost since she was hired by NBC, but it's official:
https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/26/media/nbc-news-ousts-ronna-mcdaniel/index.html Gotta say that I find this heartening in a way. Actual journalists and reporters took a stand and won. Part of this era that's been so jarring is the total failure of the media to just say what's going on - sugarcoating the word "lie" forever, lapping up every crazy thing Trump did, treating the GOP like everything was normal. This is a step back towards some semblance of sanity. |
They also would have lost audience. Who wants to listen to an election denier weigh in on the news. If she was that off about the election, who wants to listen to her on other topics |
There’s just no place inside the fake news bubble for someone with unapproved opinions. |
It’s very rare that someone is so bad that it makes me say “good for Chuck Todd.” And here we are. |
Why was she ever in to begin with? |
Those “opinions” made her a criminal in several states and she has never said anything to actual journalists over the past seven years that wasn’t a lie. Why does she deserve a job providing political commentary? |
I’m sure Fox or OANN will be happy to have her. |
Good on them. Now, if they would only get rid of Joy Reid. |
No because she was ousted by Trump. She has no home. |
Boo hoo. |
“You are insulting your audience by putting a known liar on TV and paying that person.” |
Solidarity from someone who’s so glad they jettisoned Ronna ROMNEY and also hates Joy Reid. |
There are no journalists anymore. Just talking heads and AI programs that can spit out an article. |
NBC News “illegally terminated” 13 union journalists two weeks prior to hiring Ronna McDaniel, so definitely while they were negotiating with her on a ~ $300,000 per year deal. You can actually fund a lot of journalism for $300,000 per year. This is the supposed “liberal media” that dumb people keep talking about. Ronna’s lying ass in a chair at 30 Rock fills time, might increase access to other people who will also fill time by lying in a chair, and costs a lot less than actual journalists chasing actual stories in the field. And everyone knows it. |
A new unit of measurement supplanting the Scarmucci. |
