For business. Any opinions? Ignoring costs for now. |
If real estate, then Wisconsin. If anything else, then favor the part of the country where they want to live after college. |
He would want a city. Maybe Austin, Chicago or NYC? I suppose ATL possibly but doubt it. Can't he look for summer internships in another city? Like in Austin even if he's not going ot UT. He did apply but I'm not expecting acceptance. Will appeal. |
Wisconsin is the best, but they are all pretty good. |
Wisconsin is having major problems. Hard to maintain good business faculty due to budget constraints |
Aren’t you the poster whose kid didn’t get into Wisconsin and now has to choose between Maryland and Georgia? Really, it’s OK. |
Wisconsin has trolls on DCUM. It is excellent though and would be my pick. |
I'd say for sure Wisconsin if he wants to live in Chicago. Probably for NYC too, not sure about Austin. |
I have 2 at the Smith School at UMD. They’re both happy. Did you tour and see all the offerings? It’s what sealed the deal for us. There will be upcoming tours for admitted students where you can ask all your questions. I’m sure GA and Wisconsin have them too. |
"The only campuses without projected deficits were UW-Madison, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout."
https://www.wpr.org/economy/most-university-wisconsin-system-campuses-have-budget-deficit-millions Wisconsin may be having issues as a state, but the university in Madison is perfectly fine. They have insulated themselves in part by taking more OOS students, especially east and west coast who pay full OOS tuition or close to it. Madison's business program is good, especially real estate or data science. UGA has proximity to Atlanta and plugged into other sunbelt companies, plus of course warmer weather. UMD is a value in state and decent business, obviously plugged into more government and contractors than consumer-facing businesses. They are all using similar textbooks for the core classes, so it really may be other factors. |
Nope. |
Once the gerrymanding is unblocked this year, things should change in the state house. |
No my dc is deciding between a bunch but those 3 are front runners. He's prob most into UW then UGA. Not into MD. Also waiting on UF. |
So wisconsin business school is as reputable as Terry at UGA and smith at UMD? |
Terry hands down |
