The Bachelor (Joey)

Anyone watching? I've been checked out of the Bachelor franchise since Trista, but renewed interest with Golden Bachelor. I was afraid I wouldn't like Joey--he seemed a little dim in the glimpses I've had--but he came across as pretty sweet, articulate, and grounded. Anyone know why Charity rejected him? Something particular or just better chemistry with someone else?

The ladies so far, well, they make me miss the Golden Bachelor ladies, but maybe the dynamic will improve. Loved the radiochemist Katelyn, but she's probably too smart for him. Also liked Lea, Daisy, Nat, and Rachel so far. He seemed really into Lexi, Lea, Kelsey, and polarizing Maria. Annoyed he kept the obvious beyotch Taylor and the two sisters (the crass plastic older one, Lauren, was probably a producer's pick for drama, since he did not seem into her).

Interesting, first time in a while Bachelor ratings have gone up. Golden Bachelor popularity coat tails, Joey's appeal, or a mix? Isn't Joey basically a tennis bum with no real prospects?

He seems very nice and normal and sweet. They've given him a crop of duds, though. Not a good prospect in the bunch. Poor guy.

The radiochemist seems like an amazing prospect. Sweet, pretty, and super smart. Also Nat, Lea, and Rachel seem like good prospects. A lot of duds and wanna-be influencer types, but I do think there are a few good ones. But he seemed to be focused primarily on looks and sex appeal, which doesn't bode well.

If I had to pick right now, I'd pick Lea for him. They are very well-suited, both in Hawaii and love the beach life. She seems nice and mature, and doesn't seem like she'd mind that he's a tennis instructor.

Am I crazy or is this the first time in a while where the majority of the women are actually kind of busted?

And then they had to put up ads for casting?

Is it possible that the well is starting to run dry?

If I'm not mistaken, he moved back to Philly from Hawaii. Presumably because he couldn't make a living there. I think he lives with his parents?

He said after Charity dumped him, he moved back to Philly to be near his family, his support group. He lives with his sister and her husband and their dog.
