You must have limited hiring and employment experience. I bet more than half of the players who go on to play lax in college hate it after their 2nd year. They will never admit that to their parents. They probably keep playing for other reasons. My daughter was recruited to play D3 in college but was accepted to much better schools so decided not to play in college and go for the better academic school. She's now 4th year pre-med at Duke, has been accepted to medical school, and has absolutely no regrets dropping lax. But this is just one data point. These kids should follow their passion and not get caught up in all the hoopla. |
I don’t know the exact stat, but you probably are not far off when say more than half of players quit the sport after several years. I thought I read somewhere at one point about 1 in 4 will play all four years. When you factor in most commits will see little to no playing time, the daily grind, and no financial future in lacrosse after college these numbers are not surprising. |
I wish the games would start back up. |
Sorry your daughter sucked at lax, but glad she was adopted and got some brains though. She should make something more other life than her parents posting on an anonymous message board. |
I like Langley goalie Dad. |
There are lots of girls who get to play lacrosse at high academic institutions. Sorry it wasn't an option for your daughter. Maybe if you'd tried harder for her. Also I think lots of parents with kids playing club lax likely understand 'hiring and employment experience'. This does not make you unique. |
I don't disagree with your overall point, but FWIW, Ivy has 5 in the top 25 of the IL/ESPN/Coaches poll, including the one who just knocked off #1 MD in College Park. |
Looks like Yorktown is now playing Justice next week as opposed to TJ on Tuesday |
Just going off Lax Number results looks like Madison took one on the chin by Broadneck out of Mc. 20-7 |
Broadneck was public state champs in Maryland last year.
|
Yep; and they with play SSAS and Potomac later. Good prep for playoffs to play tougher teams. Not just the talent pool that keeps Madison tough, it's coaching, development, and playing top competition. |
What about the choking in the playoffs? |
What about choking in the District and Regional finals, when you clearly had the best team, Oakton dad? |
State champs is the only thing that matters!! |
Any updates from c’ville? I’m hopeful some of the players injured earlier in the season were able to make it back. I see they are playing in FL. I know they were all seniors so hoping not all season ending injuries. |
