I cannot say one way or the other if Josh learned anything from getting to hang out and build homes with a family friend for a summer. It sure doesn't sound like a punishment. Maybe that stern talking to and prayer with the church elders and family did change him. But I wouldn't let him near my children, ever.

If he was put in the juvenile justice or family services' programs, it would have been the same - removal from his immediate family and placement with friends or relatives or a foster family. SAME DIFF.

Yes, but he would have received counseling. So not SAME.

Prove what understanding you have of their religion before you accuse them of picking and choosing which parts of it to follow. Show me how you are an expert on the religion that the duggars follow, I bet you can't/wont.

There was like 7 pages of someone pointing out the most infinitesimal differences of how fondling was not as bad as sexual assault because we didn't know for sure if his fingers ever slipped into their vagina. How if he slipped passed the vulva it was not assault, just fondling. It was disgusting. Also that they should have just moved away from him, that it was no big deal. I don't give a fuck about their religion as long as they don't try to force it down MY throat. I know it is impossible for any person to follow every single law, commandment and instruction in the old and new testaments. The Bible is inconsistent and all Christian religions selectively ignore the parts they don't like.
