How tall is your 4-year-old boy?

I often hear my son is tall for his age and he is often mistaken for being older. He lost his 2 front teeth in a playground incident a year ago, so I attributed the 'older' comments because most 4-year-olds have all their teeth. He is taller than some of the kids in his class, but I don't see that much difference. He is 44.5" and 46 lbs. at 4 years 8 months.

DS is 4 years 5 months. He's 43 inches tall and weighs 34 lbs. I see several kids in his class who are taller than he is.

Your son sounds like he has a more solid build (esp in comparison to my string bean). Maybe it's that size that make people think he's older?

my son is 4 1/2 and is 41" tall and 37 lbs. He still looks pretty tall and skinny to me but I think he's 40th percentile for both weight and height. Your son sounds tall.

Perhaps you're right, 9:54. He is solid and wears slim uniform pants, but will probably need regular pants next year.

Mine is 40" and 29 lbs, and people think he's a smart 2 year old.

Mine is 4 years, 7 months, 43.5 inches tall and 41 pounds. He wears a size 5T/5, and is considered tall for his age. At his annual check ups he is generally 90-95% height, 50-55% weight. He's very articulate and people usually assume he is older than he is.

My son had the same stats as yours at that age. Including the teeth He is now 5.2 years old and is 45.5 inches and still 46 lbs.

My son turns three in June. He is 49 pounds and 44 inches tall. People at the park think I have a *slow* 5 year old.

Thanks for all the responses. I see a variety of heights and weights, but nothing to say my son is going to tower my 5'4" frame anytime soon. I hope

@ 11:27, I can't believe he's the same size a year+ later. I think mine is experiencing a growth spurt since his appetite is steadily increasing.

@ 11:33, wow. That's going to be a big boy.

my 4.6 month old just about identical stats. he has always been told he's tall. he is also very stocky...he was a very chubby baby and toddler....he keeps growing taller but his weight has remained btwn 45-47lbs for a very, very long time. I take that as a good sign...he's sprouting. Drs predict he will be around 6'2". I am only 5'5" and the runt of my entire family...(all girl--siblings and cousins are between 5'8"-5'10")..and I'm married to a stocky 5'10 man..so I am hoping my son takes after my brother/dad/grandfather in height..but still be happy if he is dad's size.

OP, if you google "growth predictors" there are some calculators out there that allow you to add in moms height, dads height and child's height/age for a prediction... I know there is one at babycenter.com.

Mine just turned 5 and he is 41 inches tall and weighs 36 lbs. That's the 25% for height and weight. He is a shrimp and is nearly always the shortest child in the 4-5 yr old age range at parties, school, etc.
