LIVID update for those who are still interested

Anonymous
On NPR this morning Julie Rovner did a story about abortion coverage in the new healthcare legislation. They took a snippet of the speech I gave last November at the National Press Club when we were lobbying against the restrictions.

Even though the legislation went in a different direction than the one I was advocating, I am very proud of the fact that my work is still getting publicity out there. I really hope that I've done some good in at least informing people of how these restrictions could potentially affect them.

Here is the link.

Bravo! Thanks for keeping us all updated, and for taking your awful experience and using that as a force for good.

Many thanks again for sharing your story. I am so sorry for what you had to go through - first of all because of the loss of the pregnancy but secondly with the fight you had with the insurance companies. And then on top of that campaigns and the ignorance of the "pro-life" advocates (whose life???) who were stalling this health care reform for so long and judging and condemning anyone who is considering abortion.
I hope you are well.

I heard it this morning and my husband and I were talking about it. I was about to create a post and say great job - you obviously beat me to it.

Thanks livid!

I definitely care - I have repeated your story so many times since I saw your first post, and have been reminded of it throughout the health care debate. I truly appreciate you and your strength to do something, especially when I imagine it requires you to relive such a painful experience. I highly respect you, and wish we could be friends.

Not knowing about this thread, DH heard the piece and brought it up and we discussed it. Thank you for informing us--its unimaginable, yet true, that we have such horrifying, women-unfriendly policies still in place. I applaud your courage.
