We've heard of OOS waitlist offers from William and Mary.

No regrets (although that would have been a slam dunk if it came in March).

CNU? What's that? And did you take the spot?

Christopher Newport?

CNU is Christopher Newport University. We did NOT take the spot. Went with a medium-sized Jesuit school that offered an aid package similar to the price of CNU for us (in state).

LoyolaMD? That’s a great school.

A few years ago, F & M tried to get my kid to commit before they took her off the list (like they were going to make the offer official if she confirmed in advance that she would accept). We weren’t ready for that since we had not been there for more than a year before and she had accepted elsewhere. It felt like a way to fudge their yield numbers.

My daughter declined.

I hate when schools play these games. F&M is not the only one. You can thank USNWR.

This. It’s the holy grail.

VT offered a few spots yesterday according to DC’s guidance counselor. They may offer a few more spots after May 15 but it didn’t sound very promising.

My kid and another I know just turned down VT RD

Yeah- but schools account for a percentage not accepting. They all accept more based on the history of yield at the school. So they can have lots not accepting and still not have to use the waitlists.

My kid just turned down BC, UVA, WM RD recently- but it likely won’t make much difference.

I think it’s going to be a few weeks before most have movement due to financial aid fiasco and some schools moving deadline to 5/15.
