Tell me you've never stepped foot in PG county without telling me you've never stepped foot in PG county. The neighborhoods directly surrounding National Harbor are quite nice. There are some lower-income pockets of PG inside the beltway and then further away, but right by NH, is a fine and safe community. Those neighbors were miffed that all access to national harbor was cut off for them (you used to be able to walk to the river from these neighborhoods). |
They put a very expensive casino IN the ghetto. I mean what did they expect to happen? Now they have 800 kids commiting crimes.
I'm not sure what sane people are still going there to gamble and get robbed and car jacked when leaving. |
NH is a rather dumpy area, IMO. I never go there. |
It’s so funny how everyone is too scared to identify the real problem, even though we all know what it is. |
It’s always had crime, is it actually higher now? |
These parents should be prosecuted. What idiots. |
I was there a few months back and there were a large group of rowdy teens fighting. They all smelled like marijuana. The ones who weren’t fighting were running around knocking into people, shouting, swearing and had no regard for those around them.
They need to ban teens from this area or at least enforce some rules. |
You are all so paranoid and sheltered. My daughters love the national harbor this time of year! It’s wonderful to see them experience a vibrant and diverse crowd of friends. |
Hhhmmmmm. |
South of national harbor is a nice neighborhood. Just north is oxon hill, one of those places you always hear about on the news and never for good things. |
What, exactly, are you inferring? What is the “real problem”? |
We love oxon hill farm, and just had a nice dinner at national harbor last month. I didn’t see rowdy teens there at the time. Maybe we just missed them? |
The area south of NH isn’t the hood and the area north of it is. They built it right on the borderlands and expected to be able to keep the bad elements out. |
I don’t go to NH that often but when I do it seems like a perfectly regular crowd. Not any more rowdy teens than anywhere else in the DMV. |
With 800 (not a typo) teenagers stealing from people and stores, meeting up flor various pre-arranged “fight clubs” and having fights, going berserk? That kind of vibrant crowd? WITW. |
