Gas & Colic Workshop by Amy Bonsiero, last updated: Apr 17, 2014 01:40 PM
This Gas and Colic Workshop is designed to teach parents relaxation techniques, comforting suggestions, and infant massage strokes which can aid in the relief of gas expulsion, colic, constipation, reflux, and tension. Infant Massage can be an extremely useful tool to help relieve your baby’s pain and discomfort. Our Gas and Colic Routine is taught as part of our Infant Massage course, however due to the strong demand for this particular section of the course we have decided to break it out as its own unit and teach parents the Gas and Colic Routine in a workshop format. The Gas and Colic Workshop is 1.5 hours long and can be attended with or without your infant. While some parents like to bring their babies and learn/practice the strokes on their actual baby, other parents find that it is easier (and less distracting) to attend the workshop without their infant and learn the strokes on the massage doll (provided in class). Either option is fine with us – the decision is up to you. Symptoms of Gas and Colic can include abdominal pain, sudden and unexplained outbursts of inconsolable crying, high-pitched screams, abdomen distention, baby draws in legs and then shoots them straight out.
