Jillian Michaels Wants My Ass
by Jessica, last updated: Mar 23, 2009 07:43 AM
I'm taking the 30 Day Shred challenge and committing to work out with the trainer to The Biggest Losers via the popular DVD that promises results. With snow on the ground and the economy in the toilet, working out at home with a virtual Jillian as my personal trainer for just $8.49 is a perfect remedy for the effects of my winter romance with guacamole and Pacifico.
My children won't be on your airplane - you can thank the economy
by Jessica, last updated: Feb 05, 2009 10:56 PM
Last year, we were that family on your airplane. But don't worry, this year you're safe. My family and I can't afford to all fly at once in the current economy. Don't thank me, thank Uncle Sam.

Bad Mommy: Eating our way through the grocery store
by Jessica, last updated: Aug 30, 2008 09:29 AM
I don't know why I seem to be the only parent doing this. The looks and head shakes from other moms as my kids scarf in the cart is the least of my worries, but really, what's the big deal?
Introducing the Family and Home Network
by cathyfamilyhome, last updated: Aug 27, 2008 03:44 PM
Family and Home Network was originally named Mothers at Home at its founding in 1984; we changed the name in 2001 to acknowledge the complexities of mothers' lives, to discourage labeling mothers by their work/home choices -- and to acknowledge and embrace fathers. Thinking about families and public policy has been part of FAHN's work for decades and it is our current focus.
Get Those Yellow Flags Off The Lawn!
by SurelyYouNest, last updated: Apr 06, 2008 11:05 PM
Ah, spring. The hydrangeas are budding back to life, the groundcover in our stretch of Rock Creek Park behind the dog park is afire with Spring Beauty and Lesser Celandine . Our community garden has a burgeoning crop of arugula and tender lettuce shoots setting forth. Our cherry tree is about to bloom! The kids are crawling all over the playground and picking everything in sight on our walk home from school. Skipping, picking 'onions' and teeny-tiny little white and purple flowers from the middle of a sea of...yellow pesticide application flags. Cr*p.

Simple Green Valentines for Your Little Kids
by Organicmania, last updated: Feb 25, 2008 08:04 PM
It’s hard to believe Valentines Day is next week. Soon it will be time to run out and buy those cutesy Valentine cards so popular with the preschool set. Wait a minute - they’re packaged in boxes shrink wrapped in environmentally unfriendly plastic. Plus, who ever remembers to buy them until your little darling reminds you the day before Valentine’s Day? By then the odds are good that you’ll need to make an extra trip to the store just to pick up the cards – wasting gas. This Valentine’s Day, get ahead of the curve with an approach that’s cute, eco-friendly, inexpensive, and fun.
