This class is perfect for beginners and for the more experienced ones who want to try something new. The workshop is held by an experienced florist who will guide and give you all the secrets and tips to create a balanced and beautiful floral arrangement in a teacup. Flowers may vary and all materials are included, the only thing you need to bring is your enthusiasm and that beautiful vintage teacup ready for a second chance to shine. After the workshop, enjoy teatime with tea and scones at the Kentlands Mansion. One registration includes flowers and materials for one teacup arrangement and teatime for up to two people. You can do the workshop with your child, a friend, or on your own! All participants must adhere to safety guidelines including social distancing and mask wearing.

New works share a leitmotif of optimism for improving our footprint on the planet and in connection with one another. Experience the real, personal journeys of the people and ecosystems in our midst in an exciting evening of dance performed by some of the DMV’s finest movement artists. Jane Franklin Dance is honored to have a performance history at Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival with appearances at the festival since 2012. This year’s presentation brings together choreographers with a range of viewpoints and dancers of different generations. Choreography is by Krystal Collins, Jane Franklin, Horizon Miguel, Robert J. Priore and Brynna Wilder. (Appropriate for all ages. There will be an artist talk-back following the performance.)

Virtual Galentine's Day Tea

Grab a few gal pals and join Dumbarton House for a virtual tea to celebrate friendship! This virtual tea includes a a take-home tea box, short lecture on friendship in the federal period, cookie decorating, and craft instruction. The craft is a garland made of upcycled paper hearts. Supplies for the craft and cookie decorating are included in the cost of your ticket. Tea boxes include tea bags, scones from Firehook Bakery, jam, macarons from The Sweet Lobby, madeleines, and an assortment of fruit. Pickup of tea boxes and craft kits will be scheduled the morning of February, 13. Please note this is a virtual program. There is no in person component at Dumbarton House. Vouchers for free admission to the museum are included with ticket purchase. Dumbarton House is closed through the month of February due to the ongoing public health crisis. Capacity it limited! The deadline to purchase tickets is February 9. Ticket sales will close at 12 p.m. on February 9 to allow time for food orders and preparation.
