Come connect with your partner through couples yoga at the Kentlands Mansion! Couples will practice pranayama (breathing techniques) and asana (physical postures) both individually and together. Test your balance, challenge your strength and have fun together! No experience is necessary for this class. Please bring one mat per person and wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. Day Eight FREE All Day Summer Writing Camp

Day Eight offers two FREE week-long sessions of Writing Camp this summer: July 10th-14th and/or August 7th-11th. The camp day runs from 10 am to 4 pm, and both weeks are based out of the Shepherd Park / Juanita Thornton Library (7420 Georgia Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.). Field trips and specific dates occur at additional locations. Day Eight writing camps are collaborative, interdisciplinary, and staffed by professional writers and artists. Campers will learn from poets and other artists in workshop-style instruction. In addition to recitation, the writing camp is generative, so the campers will produce many pieces of writing, which they will rehearse at daily open mics! At the end of the week, we invite you to see their incredible work at their end-of-camp showcase.
