One of my favorite reasons to live-in I don't have to worry about a commute, and I get paid whether my employer goes to work or stays home (and I don't have to work).

Suburbs are full of spun-out and abandoned cars this evening. Temps are below freezing, so ice sheet tomorrow morning??

This is how egotism rears its ugly head.

It's Friday morning in DC, what are you complaining about now?
Roads are fine, everyone was in the office today, in time, no accidents.

Actually there were several accidents. I drove by 2.
I got to work an hour late. Some roads were icy.

No mine. She drove to work and back just fine. As did my husband and I to our offices. Oh, and his whole office made it to Arlington and back safe and sound. My whole office make it to Rockville and home safe and sound too. And on time.

Some people here need to grow the F up. If I go on the main traffic cameras on my nanny's route and the roads are clear, traffic is moving fine, etc. and she is whining she will not be paid. Also, 2 whiney strikes and you are out.
If we are going to work and think the driving conditions are fine we expect nanny to make the effort. We also offer to waste 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening drive her to/from her apartment and back, if she really feels she is "stuck".

It's treacherous outside, especially the side streets. "Even with a four wheel drive vehicle," according to news reports this morning.

No one gets paid double or extra to go to a real job. Just fyi. You make it in or you take a sick day or get fired. It's really simple.

Your arrogance is astounding. And SHAMEFUL.
Everyone is being told to stay home today, FYI.

It makes me so glad I hired a mature nanny with no fear of driving who comes in rain or snow when needed and never tries to get extra paid days off because of bad weather. She has never been hurt or in an accident trying to come into work.

You are proud your nanny risked her life for you? How sad.

For adults, honey, driving to work in light snow is not a risk to your life.

Is that how you speak to your female employees if so you should be sued for harassment.

Also depending on the location driving in light snow can be life threatening. That might be difficult for you to grasp as thinking beyond self and one's immediate surroundings requires a mature mind which you have demonstrated you do not possess.

So are you implying the 100 million citizens that live north of DC just don't go to work 1/3 of the winter? Because in half the US it snows a lot more than in DC and people still go to work.
