Actually, they are childcare providers and not household help.

Our AP has to change their sheets out once per week, and usually it's done on laundry day (which is also once per week).
Our kids are responsible for making their beds each morning and keeping their rooms tidy.
Agree AP shouldn’t make the beds. Ridiculous. What is that teaching the kids.
Our solution — no one makes their beds unless they want to do it

My 6 year old and 9 year old get picked up by school bus at 7:10am. It is already hard for them to get up and get ready that early in the morning. So yes, AP makes the beds. I don't feel there is anything wrong with it.
Making the bed takes 60 seconds. A six-year-old with functional arms can easily do it. Stop raising lazy kids.
first of all, how I raise my kids is none of your business.
second, my kids put away their toys, do the dishes and take care of their messes most of the time. But if there is a rush or something more important comes up, AP does it. That's the reason why I have an AP. 60 seconds of sleeping time in the early morning for the kids IS more important than having them make the bed. Why would I want to make the morning craziness even crazier???
third, this post was about AP complains about a job that she agreed to before matching. She should do it no matter what. If she changed her mind and doesn't want to do it, then REMATCH.

Exactly. The lack of general awareness from the previous poster is amusing

Anonymous wrote:My impression is that what used to be fine with many APs in terms of schedule and amenities has changed in the past couple years - kind of a COVID driven "arms race" where families competed to get and keep au pairs in a difficult time and kind of bent over backwards, and now APs expect the perks and easy schedules - plus more and more social media driven comparisons. So, OP even if past APs liked the schedule and stayed 2 years I think the world has evolved...
