As a professional, I control my own work process.

So it isn't always awesome for the nanny with the child either. Just keep that in mind. I'll work 2 to 3 nights a week with twin babies to help supplement my husband's income with while he is home with her. And it leaves me still lots of time and flexibility that I need and want.

A good solution for someone who has a husband with a day job with regular hours.

Thanks and yes it has been a much better solution for us. I realized that letting someone else have all the control over how I conducted my day with my own kid was not going to work.

I know a fourth grade teacher who's own child is in her class. Of course it's not common, but it can work out very well.

The fact that you bring your children to work, actually means you aren't professional and you're more of a babysitter. This is fine for weekends, but parents pay top dollar for someone to have undivided attention towards their kids. Not sure if this is a field you should continue if you can't even find childcare for your own kids so that may be an issue also. It's really all about finding a family who's a good fit for you.. It took me 4 months to find a family I actually wanted to work for so there's still hope. I'm only 23, and many families think I am too young so I understand the struggle. It wasn't until I found a family who spoke mandarin and I so happened to have studied mandarin along with my degree for college.

I have no problem hiring a nanny with kids, but I wouldn't hire someone who needed to bring their kids with them to work.

All I know about hiring a mom as a nanny means your own kid will be second string, nanny will take way too many days off, and there will be endless drama.

Can someone PLEASE enlighten me!!! Why will parents in this area not give a second look to a professional nanny that has her own child and needs to bring it/them with?

Do you believe she will take less care of your child(ren)?

I can tell you, this can not be further from the truth. Most nanny moms work their butts off to prove that. In reality its the total opposite. Our kids are the ones that lose out on the arrangement. But no one is giving these professional, educated, nurturing nannies a second look because they wanted to have a family too.

Please enlighten me!

The honest answer to your question is that the market is full of professional, educated, nurturing nannies who don't need to bring their child with them.

This, exactly.
