They never even shoveled their walkway from the snow from last Tuesday b/c they use the garage.. But i use the walkway to the front door and the snow is now hard and about 3-4" high.

If the snow is hard what does it matter? You are a nanny, not a princess, you can walk on hard packed snow.

Love it!

Yes - some seriously raging drama and nastiness today. Such a shame. Tough to find a time to ask questions here when you might get some of the saner responses but today definitely isn't it. Thx for the laugh though!

No one gets paid double or extra to go to a real job. Just fyi. You make it in or you take a sick day or get fired. It's really simple.

Your arrogance is astounding. And SHAMEFUL.
Everyone is being told to stay home today, FYI.

It makes me so glad I hired a mature nanny with no fear of driving who comes in rain or snow when needed and never tries to get extra paid days off because of bad weather. She has never been hurt or in an accident trying to come into work.

You are proud your nanny risked her life for you? How sad.

For adults, honey, driving to work in light snow is not a risk to your life.

Is that how you speak to your female employees if so you should be sued for harassment.

Also depending on the location driving in light snow can be life threatening. That might be difficult for you to grasp as thinking beyond self and one's immediate surroundings requires a mature mind which you have demonstrated you do not possess.

I would never EVER risk my life for anyone.

If they ask you to risk your life for them, then that is a red flag that you need to find a new position.

You've never been in a car accident, have you?

this thread is beyond odd. Fed gov. is open today. Most people are at work. Yes roads were bad - but not undrivable if going slowly. It's not as if people were being asked to come in yesterday - that would have been nuts.

Exactly. The vitriol towards the nannies and MBs who aren't afraid of driving in snow is equally odd. Driving in snow isn't risking your life.

My nanny texted this morning that she would be in early to give me a little extra time to get to a medical appointment before work. When she arrived, she said roads were slushy and a bit slick, but no accidents as everyone was driving slowly. I didn't see any accidents on my drive either. By noon, roads were fine. Never a question that we both had places to be today and just had to plan a little extra time to get there. No drama.

Do you really think schools shut down because of a little slush?

Yes. This is Washington, DC.

Exactly. Most people here don't know how to drive on ice. I saw a school bus crash.

It's Friday morning in DC, what are you complaining about now?
Roads are fine, everyone was in the office today, in time, no accidents.

Of course your life is fine,
as long as your head is in the sand.
