You guys like to throw around the word entitled for whenever a nanny says she deserves something. Well guess what? She is entitled to her check, on time in-full. Yes people make mistakes, but its not okay to sit on your ass after you make them. If the nanny didn't hold up her end of the employment arrangement her employer would not be gracious and understanding about it.
Ancient thread. Get a life.

Please make sure to give the nanny your references.
Lol thank you for bumping a thread from when my almost 20 month old was born. Don't you have better things to do on a Sunday morning? How sad for you.
Sounds to me like another abusive mb, who is mad about this discussion.

She says that the check bounced so she went to a check cashing place, got her money, then told MB what happened.
So by then, she had gotten her money and was just telling MB what happened.
If I were MB, I would say the same thing too.
It's Thanksgiving weekend, you got your money, what else do you want?
Another MB here. PP, you do realize that there are fees for getting checks cashed and for bouncing checks, right? The appropriate response from the MB would have been a heartfelt apology and to offer to give her cash that day to cover the bounced check and the fees. A college student has an excuse (inexperience) for bouncing a check. The 30/40/50-something parents who run a household and can afford to hire an employee should be not be cutting things so close that they are bouncing checks.
