The best nannies are retired/early retired teachers. Especially if you want just before and after care, plus occasional snow days /admin day coverage. Advertise for that.

$25/hr is the average in the DC area.

Don't look at the white house nannies ads, most of those ads don't end up in a placement and parents find a nanny themselves.

These agencies don't have much of a pool of nannies that aren't already on care or here so they put an ad out for new resumes, something you yourself can do.

cheap folks trying to find caregivers for $25, good luck or else stay at home with the kiddos. You're def a daycare mom.

We also contribute a few hundred to her health insurance premium and she uses our car for child activities. I have interviewed many nannies recently and I think $25/hr is the going rate for one child.

Never heard of $26 in today's time, perhaps before the pandemic but not anymore.

Well you just heard it!

heard from someone that pays below market like you DCUM?! No, your nanny just quit on you.

For all the people on here claiming WHN offers $30+ per hour for Bethesda...

Example one: $30-$35/hr, plus OT...for a 2 month old and a 21 month old.

Example two: $30-$35/hr...for a family with a 9 year old, 5 year old twins, and another on the way.

OP has ONE child in school part of the time. They absolutely should not pay $30+/hr.
