Tell her those are unreasonable standards in the nanny industry- and tell her she can call a couple agencies to check.
We've had AuPairs and nannies and there is no curfew on weekend, and midnight or 7-8 hours before next shift on weekdays.

I have a storage unit that I pay a crazy amount of money for per month. Would you like to borrow my household furniture? Its all very nice things. You can view pictures of it online and delivery would be like 30.00 at most. They would bring everything inside for you. Super easy. I am a career nanny and have unfortunately been in a bad live- in arrangement as well. You don't recognize what it does to your mental health until its too late. Don't suffer through it. My offer is sincere.

Is anyone looking for a roommate? I've always wished we (DMV Nannies) created more community for each other, so this is my attempt.

Live-in nanny who posted about car curfew and the alarm earlier here again. That’s ridiculous. As I said, they can set rules for their alarm and their car, but requiring you to be back by a certain time? Nope. Remind them that you’re an adult and you always make sure you’re ready and alert to work on time. That’s all that matters.

Are you a troll? This is effing stupid. I work during the day and provide as needed evening care 2-4 evenings a week. No way would I ever let an employer dictate a curfew, working in evenings or not. I would move out and quit if I were you. Guarantee you'd find another live in position without trash employers like this.

Your first mistake was entertaining their curfew from the outset. I would have ignored and kept leading my personal life how I chose.

This isn’t ok and exactly why I never would accept a live-in position and encourage nannies to refuse them unless they increase their pay.

Too many families use it as an excuse to control and overwork their nannies.

If you aren’t on the clock your time is yours.

You are incorrect. If you and I sign a contract it cannot be changed orally but only in writing and only if both parties sign.

Curfew for their vehicle and a text to let them know to set the alarm by 10 if you won’t be home are reasonable.

Only if agreed to in original contract!

No, making sure you text by 10 so they can set the alarm shouldn’t need to be done n the contract. Their vehicle, they can change the rules at any time for it. Neither option precludes nanny from staying out all night and partying.
