If you told me that your mom was visiting but not capable of being alone, I would assume that meant your mom had some type of cognitive issue and that would worry me. You paint a picture of your mother as someone who is not mentally capable of taking care of herself. Maybe that’s not the case but that’s what it sounds like from reading your posts. At 57, if mentally ok, your mom should be more than able to figure out how to occupy herself during the day.

I do not think your current employer is as happy as much as you think. If they were, they would have found a way to keep you when their child went to school. If I had to guess, it’s the money they are paying couples with all the crazy requests from you and they are fed up now. They will likely talk you up very highly to their friends you are interviewing with bc they just want to be done and have you move on.

Do yourself a favor. Go back and read through some of the posts that MBs posted and instead of arguing, believe them. Accept that their opinion is real and is one you will encounter in the future. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you doesn’t make them wrong.

I am a nanny and I would have never dared ask my employers this kind of favor.

Especially new employers.

I am a people pleaser but honestly, had I been a MB, I would have said no to your request.

OP, it's great that your old employer allowed you to bring your mom along to your job. Many, many PPs are trying to tell you that it's pretty unusual for a family to be okay with this, and that it will likely not make a good impression if you bring her with you to an interview and/or ask about bringing her to work with you in an interview. While it would be nice for you to have your mom keep you company while you're at work, that's not going to be what many employers are looking to have happen. They are going to expect you to be working and focused on their child/children. No matter how nice your mom is, I would never expect an adult to ask to bring their parent with them to work.

I know what I am asking is WRONG. My previous employer were very nice and very soon I will start to work with their family members. I didn’t ask them but my previous employer discussed with them . They are okay with that. My point is any time I wanted any advice I got lot of judgmental answers.

I think mostly Nannie are very upset in their lives. I ask them about my mom issue they started giving me advices about my English.
I didn’t ask about my English and their opinion is not important for me.
I feel bad for them . I read some posts so I think they work OT which makes them so upset. Or maybe mental illness. Since they do lots of OT.

Yes , they will must hire my like my previous employer hired me. They told me their kids will learn English in school and with family I have to teach them another language. I did and they are very thankful for that.

We let our nanny bring his mom to work for two days when she was visiting, after we'd met her. But it was two DAYS. I am not even sure we'd be comfortable with two weeks let alone months.

Most of the replies have been from MBs - “mother bosses” - Employers of nannies. All of the mothers (MB) are saying they would not want their nanny to have her visiting mother with her while she was being paid to care for the child.

“Nice” is not the issue. I want a professional nanny who gives 100% to my baby - and is not distracted by her mother coming to work with her!! Why can’t you understand that? No other job allows you to bring your mother to work for three months!! You have weekends to spend with your mother while she is visiting and you can postpone classes for three months.
