It would seem that her MB has no intention of apologizing or addressing the situation that she created. She has no respect for OP and I hope that OP will find another job soon and leave this horrid woman.

I am a MB and mom of twins (one with SN) and I am just amazed at the two MBs that blamed the nanny for the eloping children when their relatives were clearly at fault. It is so difficult to find a good nanny for SN children and one that can handle twins or two SN kids is just golden. Sorry you had to deal with that. If this poor child had been killed, would the mother have blamed you? Yes. And she would have blamed you to the police investigating.

This is a very bad situation, OP - worse, I think that you suspect. You took "a back seat" as requested by the mother and were told by another family member to stay at their home. And yet the mother still blamed you 100%.

Please - get out. I am not being overly dramatic. Autistic twin toddlers are a huge risk to start with and this added information (seeing what the MB is capable of) is more than just worrisome.

I don’t disagree that OP should be concernwd about liability, but she should also have been concerned before the incident. It is a bad idea for many reasons to get into a she said/she said over who is responsible for a child. If my employers want me to work alongside family members, I clarify -in writing- their expectations of me so that there is an email conversation I can refer to both with extended family and in the event of a legal issue.
