UM, they do. At least the ones I meet. They want to know when they will be expected to work and access to a car in the first interview. They already know the vacation policies, stipend, insurance etc.

Our AP worked for a few hours today while my husband and I split soccer games for older boys. AP stayed with the youngest. This is partly why we have an AP. If I only wanted the experience of having a young adult live in my home, I would host an exchange student. If AP doesn’t want to work, she can find another way to live in the USA. APs don’t get government or bank holidays. Again, if that is an issue for them, they have this amazing thing called “freedom of choice” and they can choose not to be an AP.

Funny, I don’t get paid extra for working on weekends or holidays, nor does my husband.
