For a 4 hour a week gig! Hell no would I give you all of that, no sane person would. If you aren't a troll OP, you seriously unbalanced.

+1000. References are the only reasonable request you can make here.

For babysitting I offer 1 reference (I don't want a potential once a month babysitting gig to both 3 references) and nothing else. For nannying I offer background check, driving record, financial statement, SS# for taxes, resume, and 3+ refs.
WTF, financial statement? Um, no. My financials are private just like everyone elses.

An emergency contact would not have helped you, unless maybe it was a roommate or spouse.

No, I'm shocked that you hired her in the first place.
You need to get a bunch of references next time.

She meaning the nanny recently moved from PG to Takoma park. My friend didn't have the babysitters new address and I didn't either. She too text and called her repeatedly. DCUM people are just so rude and nasty. I didn't do anything wrong but be concerned for a sitter that we really genuinely cared about. I didn't do anything for this sitter to flake and was genuinely concerned. All I did was not believe her story. It seems strange she couldn't call. Makes me Feel uneasy about her watching my child. I can't believe parents don't agree and would still have her babysit.

The friend moved an hour away to VA and of course I called her. She did not have her recent address as she had moved. She was just as concerned as I was and as surprised as I was.

Anonymous wrote:She was a nanny for a friend of mine for 6 months. They loved her. She was looking for extra money so we hired her for a regular once a week gig. It's easy... She comes after 7:30 and my child is asleep so we pay her to sit on our sofa and watch tv. We also provide her Vace pizza or chipotle or whatever she would like for dinner. We pay her $15 cash an hour. Dream job if you are a 21 year old looking for extra money. She told me how great we are abd that she relies on the extra money. We always come home on time and are very kind to her.

Your friend's as clueless as you? I know, the day after you got her babysitter, your friend moved to Paris and shut her email account, so you had no way to contact her about the disappearing sitter.

One more thing:
Let's be clear. A nanny this girl is NOT.
