Wow! I'm currently licensed in Maryland and we can have no more than two under 24 months and up to eight children total for one care provider. In my opinion that's too many kids and I don't know how just one person could handle more than two infants.

They can't. But if you have to, you just do your best.

Twin nanny here. My current charges are 7 months and imagining adding a 4 month old would be doable but really not great care for any of them. But having, say, 12 month olds and a 9 month old would be much more manageable and having 18 month olds and a 16 month old would be totally reasonable. If you want to do this, get a great, experienced share or multiples nanny, and then hire a second "mother's helper" type for a lower rate for the first 6 months of the share for at least 6 hours each day. Then cut your mother's helper back to more like 3 hours a day (you may have to find a new person) until all 3 have transitioned to one nap. After that they should be totally doable for one experienced person.

Did I say it was current? This was almost 8 years ago!
