Subject: I wasn't paid for my trial/shadow day.
I guess in the hourly worker world, trials are paid.
As MB, I thought I would always pay if I did a trial or shadow.
However, it is useful to know in the salary world, you do not get a cent until you officially get the offer and you start on your first real day. You could be slaving for months working on some proposal. Or, it could be a day long "working interview" where you get to show off how much you know. You get absolutely nothing for all that. And, it happens a lot.
Have some understanding for people on this side.

OP here. This is what my normal shadow days are like. This MB working the entire time was not something I expected. I passed on the job.
so you had no questions on how the house worked. the MB just worked from home and you got familiar with the house and kid(s). should be fine, anything pop up during the time? (i.e. kids squirmy, not eating, not napping, etc.).

It didn't get that far. I took an offer I received and told them I was no longer available.
