I am a fed and I texted her that we should keep in touch this morning and could she let me know her road conditions? Our roads are plowed, but as of last night, hers were not. She hasn't contacted me at all this morning about her roads. Now I am not going to ask her to drive in this weather and with these road conditions, but the lack of communication - just to confirm that she is not coming - is annoying. I have to telework but I will plop the kids down in front of the TV.
If she's not communicating and she's not there, that's an issue. A quick text should be easy enough for her to send. Personally, my view is that guaranteed hours are only guaranteed if the nanny is available to work, communicates, but can't get to the house or isn't needed.
