Do you get the Japanese encephalitis vaccine? No, because you aren't at risk. So why get others you aren't at risk for? Because the CDC and your doctor tell you to. That was my only point.
So you think the MB who is also a doctor was asking her nanny to get a Japanese encephalitis vaccine?

You really do lack critical thinking skills, and here is the proof.
No, I asked the MB if SHE got one. Obviously she doesn't, because she isn't at risk (at least if she is in DC). So why does she not practice that same risk assessment with every other vaccine? Because she has no critical thinking skills and does whatever her doctor tells her.

Is this how you usually start your day?

No issues with this whatsoever, i think she understands the importance. Interestingly, she last worked at a preschool and they didn't require these vaccinations, which I think is weird, but not my issue.
We are expecting a newborn soon so I'm going to ask if she will update her TDAP. I would be happy to pay if it's going to cost a significant amount, but hopefully not as she has insurance.
I would not hire a nanny who refused vaccinations, both for health reasons and because it reflects a lack of critical thinking I would not want my children to grow up on. But it sounds like there are some MBs on this board who are also antivaxx. I oppose this, but perhaps the nannies who feel the same way would be most comfortable working for someone of this persuasion.
That's interesting. Critical thinking involves researching the risks and benefits of each vaccine, and getting or declining based on your personal health history and risk. Non-critical thinking is blindly doing what your doctor says. I feel sorry for your children.

So true.
I don't see any MBs here who are antivax. If there are, they are welcome to the foolish nannies who are also lacking in critical thinking.
