Your dismissal of my opinions and experience because they differ from yours are quite condescending. I don't know what world you live in, but my rent goes up yearly and has every year I've been paying rent. Transportation costs, including gas and metro have skyrocketed in recent years. You're nuts if you think food costs haven't risen. Health insurance premiums increase. On just the rising cost of rent alone, if my employer skimped on a raise, I'd be looking for a new position to start around the time my lease was up. You guys can parse words and numbers all you like, but cost of living increases exist for a reason and are a fact of life. Inflation is in fact a thing. If you pay the same this year as you did last year, your nanny has less in her pocket, and if she's paying attention, she will leave. Its fun to assume all nannies are stupid though, so keep on keepin on.
