This is something nannies should bring up...the what if and who is going to pay...I drive an expensive vehicle my husband got me as an anniversary present...and the job I interviewed for said no driving, after a couple of months she wanted me to drive kids in my car..I said no very politely...then she wanted to exchange vehicles..I drive hers with the kids and she would drive mine..I told her firmly NO...
So I continued juggling their 2 vehicles with them

yes it would put points on my license but it is alot more if it was your vehicle and your insurance plus points.
I would settle for the points alone thank you get much.
Anyway I would never take a job if there was no nanny car because the employers don't have to purchase an expensive vehicle a second hand $4000-$6000 would be great and I would never take on a car loan to convenience them. If I had gotten in an accident with my car taking their kids around I wouldn't purchase another until they got one..they have the option of firing me but it would prove to me what was more important to them. The fact is they are in a better position than most of us to afford a car payment, so to me I would never take on that extra expense for their benefit..

If you get points on your license it's going to affect your personal car insurance either way. If you are covered by the family's car insurance as well, it will affect their insurance ALSO but not INSTEAD. The points follow the driver not the insurance.
