My sister-in-law's nanny very politely asked if she could give each child a copy of her own Bible, and my sister-in-law replied affirmatively. She was very grateful that the nanny asked her permission and saw the nanny's faith as a plus although they are of different Christian denominations.

We are all one, being judgemental and refusing to stretch your world view by working or associating with those of different faiths is warping your mind. No wonder you are so frightened. You take a book of ancient symbolism literally.

I want to contact you. Come sit for my children. How do I get ahold of you?

I live in Seattle.

But, the idea that after a few days, she's reading Bible versus to my child without asking how we feel about that says that she doesn't respect our religious views about parenting. She doesn't know what they are, because they have never come up in conversation. I don't care today that it was happening. But, there's a certain age where material like that will trigger questions from children. I don't want any nanny or babysitter discussing religion with my child. Those are our discussions to have. Just wondering if other parents have had similar concerns.

I would have a one way conversation with her. No more bible reading/religious talk or training of any kind or she will be fired on the spot.

End of discussion.

How incredibly disrespectful.

I most definitely would have a problem with you reading the bible to my children.

Do you not believe in God ? Because working for none believers is not something I would be comfortable with.

Why is that?
