Then they can take their kids with them. Who else works for free? Why would you ever work for more than twice your normal hours and only ask for $150 more for the whole week? Unless you like being a doormat and being taken advantage of, then I know some other people that would love some week long trips without kids for only $150 more than what they normally pay their nanny for the week.

Watching kids is not a skilled job. Why do you think a week of your time is worth thousands? High level executives get paid about that much. I'd much rather get a few hundred bucks to watch the kids overnight for a week than not get any extra money at all because I demanded an insane wage.

I'm all for taking trips, but I think it's better to wait until the child is old enough to understand why you are going and that you will be back. 10 months is probably the worst age to take a trip like that.
