I personally have watched it w/my own children & do not think it is like giving a young child crack as experts are likening it to.

The songs are cute as are all of the characters.
The concepts of the show are age-appropriate as well.

I’m very much of the opinion that children should only navigate structures that they can do on their own. In OP’s case, the child was navigating for themself, and they fell… which is part of the intellectual learning process, gross motor growth, and sel. Parents can’t circumvent the intellectual component: a child has to learn to assess an obstacle and figure it out, decide if they need help, or not attempt, and they need to learn to assess whether they are hurt. They can’t get away from the reality of gross motor growth: the child needs to climb, run, stretch, work on balance, figure out limb coordination… and falls happen while doing that. Finally, the most important (imo) is sel: a child has to learn when to cry (hurt) or not cry (not hurt), how and when to self-soothe, how to persist when something doesn’t go right the first time, when to be independent, where they are on the spectrum of risk awareness and caution, etc. Being totally hands off makes a child too self-reliant and can be negligent… but helicopter parents and caregivers keep a child from exploring and growing.

Most parents understand that kids of all ages will get a few bumps or bruises as they develop.

And most parents wouldn’t blink an eye if their child got a bump or bruise while in the care of another responsible adult.

If they make a fuss over such a thing, then they definitely should be staying home with their kids vs. leaving them with a care provider.

Parents like the ones described here never change!
You will only be stressed out all the time if you continue on with this family!
Time to move on to a family who actually lives in reality.

No one has bothered to ask what bars and how high from the ground it was. Climbing bars can mean the ladder type onto a play structure and it could have been 2 foot fall.

I'd worry if you didn't let your 2 yr old attempt that by themselves without holding on to them (since we are making assumptions here).

I have worked for a few families like the one the OP mentioned.

And I never stayed long in those positions either!
