OP here,
My office is in the basement. I try to take my lunch break with my daughter and so far it’s has been very dramatic. I don’t interfere with nanny rules and try my best not to be in the way. Kitchen is big enough for all of us but my husband has advised me to eat my lunch in my office. I have for the past three weeks and my baby is still in diaper during lunch. I believe our nanny has different views how to feed a toddler and we clashed on a few things so far.
Nanny here- the fact that you’re taking lunch along with daughter is a big issue and interferes with nanny’s schedules. A kid would act up or behave overly tired(even if is not tired) when parent around. The 3 families I worked for in the past we set our boundaries and even they said that being around the children while eating lunch or while I try to change diaper becomes way too overwhelmed so we scheduled our lunches time to avoid the commotion. Works amazingly well. We have a great communication, though.
Also, when I serve pasta with sauce or meatloaf I have been encouraged to take off kids clothes b/c stains won’t come out. So this shouldn’t be an issue if you and caregiver have open communication.
