Subject: Gave our nanny 2 week notice, and then she stopped coming to work. What do I do?
As she should’ve! Parents only look out for theirselves and leave Nannie’s hanging. When my last family gave me 2 weeks notice I honestly wish I wouldn’t have showed up. Mom pretty much took off the 2 weeks didn’t work to “be home” in case I quit or “ Watch Over me” the last two weeks. As much as they took advantage of me during my tenure they still shorted my “bonus/parting gift” by half claiming they were still ‘trying’ to figure out what else to give me and they would keep in touch- neither materialized. I honestly went above and beyond and they screwed me

I would never give a domestic employee a notice period. Tell them it’s not working out, get your keys etc back, get them to sign a release then pay off what’s owed and move on. BTW, we don’t give any PTO until 90 days after start date. If the person is working out we can always give more, but this way we’re not paying someone who’s flaky.

When we had to fire our nanny for lying to us about taking our child on long car rides to drive her son to work on multiple days, we fired her on the spot that day, but did agree to pay her two weeks severance. We probably didn't need to pay the severance, but also thought it might limit any potential future problems from her for us.

Most nannies that does that is because they didn't get respect from the parents or both sides were mean

This is just awful PP.
Why should the child suffer with negligent care just because you had checked out?
I could never neglect a child just because I didn’t get along with the parents.
I hope you are out of the Nanny profession now.
It's time we do psychological tests to parents too. Many parents are crazy and heartless. Once they find daycare they lie to nanny and tell her to leave next week. No wonder most nannies don't trust some rude parents
