Yes, we are looking to leave the program as we got our kids into school-age care at their school (which is what the kids asked for because all their friends are there), so we asked the LCC if a rematch would be possible for her. The kids are in camp all summer as well. Our LCC was honest and said "most-likely no" because DC has more APs than HFs requiring APs. Our AP is 18 months in with us on her full-year extension. She has been such an easy AP in so many ways, but she is not so phenomenal that we can justify the $240 a week we pay to keep her on when she will work, maybe, 3 hours a week. On that note, I am too coward to just tell her this, so I foresee we will have her until her contract is up, it is not like we would get any refund of agency fees...

I have to say I think I also lose patience and interest in my APs as their time draws to a close - sooner and sooner it seems. We are on AP #5 and she is BUGGING me and we still have 2 months to go. Probably this goes both ways - APs and Hosts both start to pull away/see the flaws more than the positives etc.

Our current one is by far the best au pair we've had. She started really strong. Her year ends in a couple of months and I've realized that she's been withdrawing more and more from us. It's normal for them to detach as their departure date approaches.

We are living this now - Au pair was amazing first six months - now she’s partying and a pain in the ass -
