Let go of the nanny. You don't know if she keeps social distancing and also what if she gets sick while in your employment? This is the time to just stay home with your own family and not to put the others to risk, that;s the only way to stop it. I am a nanny and I told my employer that i will come back after this is over, and right now my responsibility to keep my own family safe.

This is OP. Any article you read on correct practices of social distancing says you limit it to your family for it to be effective. We suspended our nanny share for the time being and will be paying our nanny as long as we are able assuming we experience no job loss and we shouldn’t. If this goes on for months, we still plan to pay her. My DH and I are teleworking in shifts to care for our 6 month and 3.5 year old and it’s tough but we feel the right thing to do.

Huh? We aren’t in isolation. We have limited our contact to our own family and the people in the nanny share. We are following the recommendations. If I don’t work, I don’t get paid, and neither would our nanny.

Look our employers are as freaked out as we are right now. They are being sent home but told they still have to work. Schools are closed and everyone is scrambling. We're all going to have to cut each other some slack.

Well, my employees haven’t thought on my risks, asked to go or I can have two weeks off without pay... Im glad though theres is still people concerned about everyone and not just their needs. Good for you!
