+1. Our night nanny was $45 an hour.
LOL unless you have triplets, you over paid.
NP here. Not in Los Angeles. $45 an hour is a steal for a night nanny/night nurse.
These prices make you want to hire illegal! jesus

Stop being cheap. 20.00 is what Nannies in the DAY get paid. If you are going to switch our CLOCK around you need to pay us more. This is speaking from a Nanny in the DC AREA!

I think to cover your bases I would hire a temp nanny and then a different person as your night nanny if you need to. Just give yourself as many options as possible so you're always covered.
Good luck!
Thank you! Sounds like the temp nanny is the best solution. And maybe the same person would end up being available after my leave ends.
I'm interested in helping you at night if you are still looking
Thanks. From reading many of the posts on here from nannies, I don’t think I want to hire a nanny. I’m leaning more towards daycare.

Because I need a nanny now. Before I give birth. I was trying to avoid a situation where I hire a nanny and then let her go when I go out on leave.
Sounds I should just hire a temporary nanny or hire a nanny and let her go before I deliver. Then hire a new nanny before I go back to work.
Not sure why you’re saying it’s hard to work for a person like me? I’m just trying to figure out an arrangement since I have six months of maternity leave. I’ve read other posts where nannies don’t like being home with the parent is there so I was trying to find a solution. I have family nearby and truly don’t need daytime help while out on leave.
[b]Not surprised your nanny left with your attitude. Good luck. Would suggest temps because no nanny who has to be with you during maternity will still be around once you go back to work.

for the love of god, this is not LA. Plenty of friends of mine in nice parts of dc have $30 an hour night nurses. I’m offering 30 hours for $22 and fine, would pay $30 for 40 hours. I also offer four paid weeks of vacation plus federal holiday s
Anyway, the job would be four months max as a night nurse. The point is to hire a nanny who can stay with our family. I don’t even want a night nurse. I didmt find the night wakings that Challenging to begin with.
I wouldn’t CHANGE the job description. I’d hire someone who understands I’m pregnant and need a different type of care while on maternity leave.

You sound insufferable, good luck lady.

Issue is that I have six months of paid maternity leave and don’t need a nanny during this time. Sure I could use a few hours of help here and there but we have a small home and I doubt it would be ideal to retain the nanny. Would it be out of the question to try and hire a nanny who would be comfortable changing those 40 hours as a nanny into 32 hours as a night nanny during the first four months of leave?
Or should I just plan on trying to find a temp nanny for six months until I have baby #2?

Tia,
Stop being cheap. Your hourly rate is not only disappointing but very disrespectful. Most of us making at least 50% more than your current pay rate. Shame on you for exploiting us nannies.
