However, I notice that most family expect you to drive you car running here and there. I am not used to using my car for work and I refused to accept any position where I have to drive my car. Another thing which I've noticed while seeking employment is some family refused to pay more than $18.00 for two children but are stating all the things they expect you to do. Give them the same chores to do, they couldn't do it themselves. But since they are offering you a few $ they expect you be become Wonder Woman, Million $ Man, Super Man, Spider Man, and Super Girl.

It's clear that's the case, because most nannies, on this board and elsewhere, are caring for infants and toddlers.
There are some few families who are interested in and can afford nanny care until all of their kids are in school, and fewer yet who will keep a nanny until their kids are all driving or out of school. These people could probably pay even more than $35/hr if they wanted to.
While I'm sure it's nice to have all of those credentials, you can pretty quickly pick up caring for a single infant/toddler in 5 years. There are plenty of good nannies for the average family at the rates WH nannies quotes.
Why would a really good nanny accept $18. when plenty of families would happily pay $25. for a really good nanny? WH has average nannies for your average families.
Where is the "creme de la creme"?

Right??
Hmm, well there's now way for me to prove to you what we pay our nanny, but she does make over $25/hour. I don't know why you people find this so hard to believe.
This is obviously a nanny. An MB would never be so passionate about making people believe she pays above market. Why in the world would she be so frustrated?
Nope, I'm the PP and I'm not a nanny. I have a nanny. I find it incredibly obnoxious that people accuse anyone who says they pay their nanny well of lying. I don't know why you people feel the need to say the hourly rates or bonuses are made up. They're not. If you are a nanny who doesn't make good money, maybe you need to find another job or maybe you're not worth it. And if you're an employer who pays their nanny less, maybe you're cheap or maybe your nanny isn't worth it. But just because you don't do something and other people do doesn't make you right and make them wrong.
Just curious what your $25 /hr nanny and kids are doing while you regularly monitor dcurbanmom. Highly paid professionals don’t usually have time.

Of course you are breaking the law and have no way top run any kind of a background check on them so good luck.
This. I agree.

We encourage you to choose a rate that falls in this range and is based on your experience and the requirements of the position. If you are seeking a live-in position, factor in the room and board that will be provided when determining your salary range."
